Option 1:

  3. Finish 7 hours of Behind-The-Wheel training.
  4. Receive an “Adult Waiver” to take to DMV for your Driver’s License.

Option 2:

  1. Obtain a Learner’s Permit and hold it for 60 days.
  2. Complete the DMV Maneuver Form.
  3. Take the Road Skills Test at DMV.

For Teens Under 18 Years Old:

  1. Obtain a Learner’s Permit (must be 15 and 6 months).
  2. Pass a Driver Education classroom course.
  3. Complete 7 hours of Behind-The-Wheel training and 7 hours of observation.
  4. Hold the Learner’s Permit for 9 months.
  5. Receive a temporary Driver’s License.

  • When taking online courses, you can purchase them on our website or request an invoice.
  • After payment, you’ll receive an email with the course link.
  • Upon completion, your Certificate will be emailed to you as a PDF for printing.
  • For Driver Improvement Online, the final test must be taken online.
  • Course completion is typically posted to your driving record within 24 hours.
  • Open book testing is not allowed, and you may attempt the final exam once per day.

    • 3x fail (8 hr Driver’s Manual Course)

Both of these courses are conducted online and last for a duration of precisely 8 hours.

For in-person sessions of Driver Improvement at our local office, the duration remains the same at 8 hours.

According to Virginia state requirements, driver’s education courses must span at least 30 hours. In-person classes consist of 36 sessions, each lasting for 50 minutes, totaling precisely 30 hours.

Our online course adheres to this requirement with a duration of exactly 30 hours, and it allows you to progress at your own pace. You have the flexibility to log out and resume the course whenever convenient.

Additionally, Virginia mandates a 90-minute presentation for both teens and their parents. Our online program incorporates this presentation separately from the 30-hour course.

In Virginia, teens can apply for a Learner’s Permit at the age of 15 years and six months. Upon reaching 16 years and 3 months, they can obtain their driver’s license by completing our Driver’s Education program, which includes 36 hours of classroom instruction and 14 in-car sessions (7 driving and 7 observing).
